The horse riding tour in the area of Mount Ararat
You choose the date of the tour. The best season for horse tour is July-August.
1st Day (start: Topcatan village) – 7th Day (end: Ishak Pasha Palace)
Our horse riding tour lasts 7 days. The daily ride lasts from 3 up to 6 hours, every day we are riding from 15 up to 30 km. Everything depends on the preference and the condition of the group.
We are starting our horse tour in Topcatan village, located at the foot of Mount Ararat. We move in a northwesterly direction to Arzep village, where we will look the old Armenian graveyard. There we will also drink very healthy spring water, for which the Sagliksuyu village is famous. Next we will move in the direction of the Diyadin town, where we will have the opportunity to bath in the hot springs.
All the time we are riding on horses through kurdish villages, as well asmountain pastures (yayla) in the summer inhabited by Kurdish Nomads. In one of Kurdish tents we will drink the tea and we will nourish farmhouse cheese and bread. Next we will reach the Fish Lake (Balik Golu). We will be able to there spend one or two nights. Then we will move in the direction ofMount Ararat and Little Ararat. We will see also Ice Cave, Meteorite’s crater and Noah’s Ark Park. Then we will reach our endpoint KurdishIshak Pasha Palace.
The horse riding tour will leaded local mountain guide from Topcatan village – perfectly broken in familiar surroundings. All nights we spend in two-persons tents. During the entire tour we will have 2 prepared meals – breakfast (beginning of the day-trip) and dinner (end of the day-trip-tour). On the way we will have a stop for the light snack.
The horse riding tour can be combined with the Mount Ararat Expedition (before or after the horse trip) – all to establish the group.
